If you have any other queries please do not hesitate to contact us. A full list of our policies and procedures are available on our dedicated page as well as a copy of our last OFSTED report.

General

Please give us a call on 020 7498 8278 to book your visitors slot. We normally hold viewings on Saturday mornings between 9:00AM onwards. We do this so we can have uninterrupted conversations with parents to understand fully what their childcare requirements are and to show parents our setting properly. After an initial first visit, we then welcome parents again with their children to see us on a typical working day and for their children to become familiar with the setting and their new friends.
We are OFSTED registered and can provide original documents to parents when visiting.
We are open Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 5:30PM. We are closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks after 23rd of December each year.
During Covid-19, as we are an essential service, we are fully open unless instructed to do so otherwise by the government and with strict Covid-19 measures in place to safeguard children, parents and staff.
Sometimes parents are unavoidably delayed. Please let us know as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary concerns. Arrangements will be made to look after your child until you arrive. In the event that you are more than 15 minutes late, we will have to make an additional charge to cover staff costs.
All our staff undergo enhanced Criminal Record Bureau checks before they are allowed to be with the children. In addition, references are taken up prior to starting work with Happy Hours. All the toys and equipment in the Nursery are of a high quality and regular risk assessments on equipment and procedures are carried out to ensure everything is maintained to the highest standard. We carry out regular Fire Drills with the children, so that they become familiar with the routine, and should we have an emergency, we will be able to clear the building quickly and safely.
Children are offered a mixture of different activities throughout the day, which will include creative play, activities to help with numeracy and literacy, construction and problem-solving, story time, dance and movement, rest and relaxation. There is also plenty of opportunity for free play to allow children to be inventive and use their imaginations.
We ensure your child is safe from the sun by applying sunscreen to children when they play outside in the warmer months. You can either supply your own Suncream or we can supply the sunscreen. If you wish to supply it yourself please make sure the bottle is clearly labelled with your child’s name on it and that it is a new bottle and is a minimum of factor 40. The nursery can provide your child suncream for a minimal cost of £3.50 per child which is for the whole summer. We use Boots Soltan factor 50. We ask parents to fill out a permission slip at the appropriate time of year. Each child will have a patch test before use to ensure they don’t have any reaction to the cream.

Starting Nursery

Our settling in period lasts for about 1-2 weeks depending on the child. For many children it is the first time that they are left with a stranger, so settling in has to be gradual in order to be done succesfully. Typically in the first week mum or dad attend the setting with their child and leave after an hour for a couple of hours and in the second week they will come for 10 minutes and drop their child off for longer. Our settling in period is free of charge.
